Just be sure to check ahead of time for any road closures or weather advisories and take it easy: the road ascends 1,100 feet in just five miles. There are plenty of places to pull off the road to take in the glorious sights, snap photos, or check out roadside exhibits.
In the spring and summer, family hikes are the perfect way to add a little adventure to your day. Hikes range from easy day hikes to challenging overnight adventures. Cedar Breaks National Monument is an ideal spot for multi-aged groups to spend a day. Take a leisurely two-mile hike along the Alpine Pond Trail to check out the wildflowers (wildflowers hit peak colors in July and August) and breaks. If your group is up to a slightly more intense challenge, continue your hiking adventure along the Spectra Point Trail. The hike is more strenuous, but worth the gorgeous views.

At night, join in one of Cedar Breaks’ “Star Parties” and experience a night sky like you’ve never seen before. Star Parties are available on Saturday nights from July through Labor Day.
